In the surrounding area of Brudevoll Farm and Ørsta there are many nice daytrips, for those who are interested in nature, culture, swimming, dining experiences, city life, etc.
What about a car trip or ferry cruise to the Geiranger fjord with it's abandoned mountain farms that are on UNESCO's World Heritage List? Along the way you can stop and enjoy the fjord views of Urke and Øye, and admire the dramatic mountains in Hjørundfjorden and Nordangsdalen.
The town of Ålesund is an hour and a half away by car and ferry. It is known for it's beautiful Art Deco architecture. Take the stairs up to the viewpoint of Aksla, and enjoy the many cafés and shops in the city center.
In Ålesund you can visit the aquarium Atlanterhavsparken (Atlantic Park), where you can see the fish being fed by a diver. The aquarium also has a water play park and other activities for children, as well as otters, seals and penguins.
On the islands outside Ørsta you will find cozy little towns like Ulsteinvik and Fosnavåg. Right at the edge of the Atlantic is the bird island of Runde, where you can see puffins and many other bird species. The area is also popular for diving, fishing and hiking, and has several small swimming beaches.
Fishing with fishing rods in the ocean is allowed almost everywhere, and Brudevoll Farm has two motor boats for hire. We can also provide fishing gear and life jackets. The area has many lovely mountain lakes with trout, and several salmon rivers. (Fishing license required for salmon rivers).
Brudevoll Gard has fishing rights in Ørsta river from June 15 to July 31. Please contact us for reservation. (License needed).
Guests at Brudevoll Farm can take our "Fjording" (local horse breed) horse riding and cart driving. Guests who have experience with horses can take him on a ride, and we help those who need assistance.
Try the idyllic swimming spot in the river right next to our farm, or hop in the ocean from our boathouse by the Ørsta fjord. There are nice swimming spots at Vatnevatnet and Rotevatnet lakes, a few minutes away by car.
If you take a short drive to the islands outside Ørsta, there are several nice sandy beaches by the sea, such as Roppesanden in Flø, Osnessanden in Ulsteinvik and Overåsanden in Hareid. If you prefer to swim in a pool, you can go to the Sunnmørsbadet indoors pool in Fosnavåg or the beautiful spa hotel Alexandra in Loen.
Ørsta town has several stores, and a shopping center. The neighboring town of Ulsteinvik also has many nice shops, and if you take the ferry to Ålesund you will find one of Norway's largest shopping centers on Moa. The Devold factory in Langevåg is also worth a visit. Here you will find an outlet for sports and leisure clothing, gift shops, arts and crafts, and a cozy café. Also check out local arts and crafts products of high quality at Nilsbuda in Sæbø.
Ørsta and the surrounding area have many cozy cafés and eateries, and if you take a trip to Ålesund you will find several high-class restaurants. Here are some of our local favorites:

Our area is known for top hikes and extreme sports, but here are many nice hikes and activities for families or others who enjoy a leisurely pace. Ask us about suitable hiking trips in the immediate area, or tips on what to do if the weather is not the best. Here are some good suggestions:
* Day trip to Ålesund visiting Atlanterhavsparken, Jugendstilsenteret, and the stairs to the viewing point Aksla.
* Day trip to the islands outside Ørsta, with a light hike to the bird colony at Runde, and a visit at the indoor swimming pool Sunnmørsbadet in Fosnavåg.
* visit the family friendly farm Hakallegarden in Vanylven. Get to know kittens, horses, alpakkas, and other animals. Have a bite to eat in their cafè, and shop for arts and crafts.
* Take a trip to Nordfjord and Stryn, see the glaciers at Briksdalsbreen and Kjenndalsbreen. Take the Loen Skylift, or enjoy the excellent pool and spa at Alexandra Hotell.
